Usage data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including artwork scans, search history, chat conversations, and feature interactions.

Images: When you scan an artwork, we process the photograph to identify the artwork. Scan images may be stored temporarily for processing and to improve recognition accuracy.

Device and location data: We may collect device identifiers, operating system version, and approximate location data to provide location-relevant features such as nearby venue discovery.

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the artwork recognition service
• Personalise your experience, including scan history and recommendations
• Power AI chat features and similar artwork discovery
• Improve the accuracy and quality of our recognition technology
• Communicate with you about your account and service updates

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Account credentials are hashed and never stored in plain text. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is completely secure.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers: Third-party services that help us operate the platform (cloud hosting, analytics, AI processing)
• Partner venues: Aggregated, anonymised usage data may be shared with museums and galleries to help them understand visitor engagement
• Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Eicon or its users

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Scan history and chat conversations are retained for up to 90 days after deletion is requested. You can delete your scan history and conversations at any time through the app. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
